Tournament Rules ~ Règlements du tournoi

All Hockey Canada playing rules will apply with the following rules :
Punctuality: Teams are responsible to confirm their next game with the tournament convenor after each game.
Protests: No Protest will be accepted against a referee’s decision. Protests will be written on the back of the game sheet and submitted with a non-refundable fee of $100.
- Teams must be ready to start 15 minutes before scheduled game time.
- Teams will be granted a 3-minute on-ice warm up.
- Ice will be cleaned after the conclusion of each game.
- A 5 member Coaching Staff (one of which must include a trainer) will be allowed on the bench at any time during the game.
- Only players whose name appears on the first game sheet and who have participated in at least 1 round robin games will be eligible to play in a playoff or championship game. COVID EXCEPTION FOR GOALTENDERS: A team may add a goaltender to their official roster at any point in the tournament should the goaltender(s) listed on the official roster sheet are unable to attend the tournament as a result of having to quarantine due to COVID. Teams must receive approval from the tournament director PRIOR TO arriving at the arena to have their roster adjusted accordingly. Roster adjustments applies to goaltenders ONLY. NO OTHER ROSTER ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE PERMITTED. Registered private school roster will be based on school year level not calendar year level.
- Maximum of 20 players per team to be registered on the first game sheet, 2 of which shall be goalies.
- If a team chooses to dress only 1 goaltender and he/she gets injured or ejected from the game, a second goaltender must be dressed and ready to play within 10 minutes of the injury.
- All players, to be eligible to play, must be able to submit proof of age 24 hours after a game. Any team using illegal players will lose their points and all points will be awarded to the opponents. Players must play in their eligible category. A team caught with an illegal player will lose all their points. *** Please note that private colleges (who play in school league) will be accepted and their players will be granted eligibility based on their school year not the year of birth (late players born after sept 1 of the previous year). An exception could be granted to midget players at the Major Bantam level in order to accommodate teams from Montreal playing under the Bantam Rules in the Montreal Tournaments.
- Full protective equipment must be properly worn at all times on ice surface. All persons under the age of 16 must wear a helmet with full facial protection while on the bench or in the penalty box.
- Mercy Rule: Running time will commence after a 5-goal difference in the 3rd period or 7-goal difference during any other point in the game. Stop time resumes if the difference is less than 3 goals at any point in the game. The maximum goal difference for plus/minus will be 7.
- Time out: one-30 second timeout per team per game will be granted in the semi final and championship game. NO TIME OUTS IN ROUND ROBIN
- Overtime in the Quarter final, Semi Final and Final:
- A: 1- 5 minute 3 on 3 period
- B: Shootout
- best of three
- sudden victory.
- A player under a penalty at the end of overtime will be allowed to take a shootout.
- No player may take a second shot until all skaters have had a shot.
- Points will be awarded on the basis of 2-1-0 (Win-Tie-Loss).
- The Tournament Convenor decisions shall be final in interpreting the Rules and Regulations.
- Any suspension will be determined by Tournament Convenor; a Fighting penalty will result in an automatic minimum 1 game suspension.
- A player receiving a 2 min checking from behind penalty will not be ejected from the game. A 5 minute major will be an automatic ejection from the game.
- The centre red line will be removed for off side passes.
- Body contact is allowed at the Major Peewee level and up.
- The stick measurement rule is not applicable in this tournament.
- All forfeited games will count, and non-played games will be scored as 7-0.
- Round Robin tiebreaker (in order of priority):
- A: The winner of the game between the 2 tied teams (doesn't apply if 3 or more teams are tied;
- B: Greater of the positive difference between goals for and goals against;
- C: Fewest goal against;
- D: Most Wins
- E: Team with fewest penalties.
- F: Coin toss.
- It is the team responsibility to fill out their game sheet a minimum of 10 minutes before the schedule game time.
